Requirements for precision during machining

The machining factory emphasizes that machining must meet a certain level of precision, which refers to the degree of deviation between the actual geometric parameters of steel parts after machining and the ideal values requested in the part drawings. The degree of agreement between them is referred to as machining deviation.
The precision of machining in the factory includes three aspects: on one hand, there is dimensional precision, which limits the dimensional deviation between the surfaces of the machined parts to not exceed necessary limits; on the other hand, there is geometric shape precision, which limits the macro geometric shape deviation of the machined surfaces, such as roundness, cylindricity, flatness, and straightness.
Another aspect is positional precision, which limits the positional deviation between the surfaces of the machined parts, such as axis alignment, flatness, and parallelism. Machining precision is the degree of conformity between the actual geometric parameters of the machined parts and the ideal geometric parameters specified in the engineering drawings.
The ideal geometric parameters, in terms of dimensions, refer to the average dimensions; for surface geometric shapes, they refer to circles, cylinders, planes, spheres, and straight lines; for the positional relationships between surfaces, they refer to parallelism, verticality, coaxiality, and symmetry.
The deviation value between the actual geometric parameters of the machined parts and the ideal geometric parameters is called machining deviation. Both machining precision and machining deviation are technical terms used to evaluate the geometric parameters of the machined surfaces. Machining precision is measured by tolerance grades, with smaller grade values indicating higher precision; machining deviation is expressed by deviation values, with larger values indicating greater deviation.
