The manufacturer provides a detailed explanation of the classification of machining.

Today, the editor from the machinery factory will talk about the classification of machining. Our factory is a mechanical manufacturing enterprise that integrates design, development, manufacturing, domestic sales, and foreign trade services. The benchmarks for machining can be divided into two categories: design benchmarks and process benchmarks. Design benchmark: A benchmark used to determine the position of other points, lines, and surfaces on the part drawing is called a design benchmark.

Process benchmark: The benchmark used during the processing and assembly of parts. Process benchmarks are further divided into assembly benchmarks, measurement benchmarks, and positioning benchmarks based on their use. Assembly benchmark: A benchmark used to determine the position of parts in a component or product during assembly is called an assembly benchmark. Measurement benchmark: A benchmark used to check the dimensions and positions of the processed surfaces is called a measurement benchmark.

Positioning benchmark: A benchmark used for positioning the workpiece during processing is called a positioning benchmark. The surface used as a positioning benchmark in the first process can only be the unprocessed blank surface, which is called a rough benchmark. In subsequent processes, processed surfaces can be used as positioning benchmarks, which are called fine benchmarks.
