What are the considerations for setting pressure gauges on hydraulic presses?
Aug 24,2019
In the use of hydraulic presses, the control of pressure plays a crucial role, and the setup of pressure gauges is intended for better regulation of the machine's pressure. However, the use of pressure gauges also carries certain safety risks, and they must be used correctly to prevent issues from occurring.
First of all, the pressure gauge's connecting pipe must be equipped with a water trap to prevent steam from directly entering the pressure gauge and causing damage, which would affect measurement accuracy. Generally, the water trap is made of steel pipe, and its inner diameter must not be less than the standard. Additionally, a three-way valve should be set up between the pressure gauge and the water trap to facilitate operations in other processes.
Once the pressure gauge is set up, the maximum allowable pressure for the hydraulic press must be based on the pressure gauge to prevent accidents. For ease of operation and inspection, it is best to design sufficient lighting at the installation location of the pressure gauge, and also pay attention to preventing adverse effects caused by temperature and vibration.
