For mechanical processing equipment, the safety requirements mainly include four parts: requirements for the main structure, requirements for the control mechanism, requirements for protective installations, and requirements for inspection and maintenance. Since large-scale mechanical processing involves many aspects, today we will introduce part of it, focusing on the requirements for the main structure. Mechanical processing equipment must have sufficient strength, rigidity, stability, safety factor, and lifespan to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. Specifically, the materials used in mechanical processing equipment must meet safety and health requirements, and the use of materials harmful to human health or those that have not undergone safety and health inspections is not allowed.
Shape: The external structure of mechanical processing equipment should be as flat and smooth as possible, avoiding sharp corners and edges. In the processing area, any equipment that is prone to causing injury accidents should take effective protective measures. Protective measures should ensure that the equipment prevents any part of the operator's body from entering the danger zone while in operation, or ensure that the equipment cannot operate (move) or can perform an emergency stop when entering the danger zone.
Mechanical processing equipment should adopt the following protective measures either separately or simultaneously: Any moving parts that are likely to cause injury accidents should be enclosed or shielded, or other protective measures should be taken to prevent operators from making contact. Based on the standing surface of the operator, any transmission installations with a height of 2m or less must be equipped with protective installations, while material transfer installations and belt drive installations with a height of more than 2m should also be equipped with protective installations.
